This page lists the cookies and similar browser storage used on this website, what each one does and how long it lasts.
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser. Cookies the site needs to work are always on. Google Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner. Videos on some pages are played from YouTube or Vimeo, which manage their own cookies.
Needed for the site to work
These are always on and cannot be switched off in the cookie banner.
- the_gc_index_session: keeps our forms secure, brings back your answers and error messages if a form needs correcting, shows a confirmation after you send a form, and gives you access to a download for 30 minutes after you request it. Lasts 2 hours after you last use the site.
- XSRF-TOKEN: stops other websites sending our forms in your name. Lasts 2 hours after you last use the site.
- consentBannerDefault: remembers your choice in the cookie banner so it does not appear on every page. This is saved in your browser's local storage rather than as a cookie, and stays until you change your choice or clear your browser's site data.
- _GRECAPTCHA: a Google cookie, set by the reCAPTCHA spam check when you first select a field in an enquiry, contact, download or registration form. It is stored under Google's domain, not ours. Google uses it to help tell genuine visitors from automated spam, and other cookies already set by Google may also be sent to Google when reCAPTCHA loads. Lasts about 6 months.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve the site. It sets these cookies only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner:
- _ga: tells visitors apart with a random ID. Lasts 2 years.
- _ga_YBG2GRZ6K3: keeps track of your current visit. Lasts 2 years.
Google Analytics still loads on every page. Before you choose, and if you reject analytics, it sends Google information about each page you view, such as the page address, time and browser type, without reading or setting Google Analytics cookies. Google can use this information to estimate visitor numbers.

Embedded videos
Some pages include videos played from YouTube or Vimeo. The video player loads with the page, so your browser connects to YouTube or Vimeo and shares your IP address and browser details with them. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and Vimeo's do-not-track setting to limit tracking, but either provider may still store information in your browser, in particular once you play a video. They decide which cookies to use:
Changing your choice
To change your choice, use the "Change consent preferences" link at the bottom of any page. Rejecting analytics stops Google Analytics using its cookies, but does not delete any already in your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block all cookies, our forms will not work.
