Mohamed AbdelSalam

Mohamed AbdelSalam (MAS) is the Executive Director of the School of Business Executive Education at the American University in Cairo (AUC). With a comprehensive background in the wireless telecommunication and technology sectors, MAS has substantial experience in the areas of business/market development, product development, and communication.

MAS has held various leadership positions throughout his career, including Marketing Director at Orascom Telecom (OT), where he managed the commercial launch and operation of three mobile networks in Yemen, Tunisia, and Algeria. He was also part of the start-up team of the FRiENDi Group, the first Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and operation of the FRiENDi mobile value proposition.

In recent years, MAS has focused more on consulting, mentoring, and training, providing assistance to companies like Vodafone Egypt, Zain Saudi Arabia, and National Technology Group (KSA/Egypt) in exploring the potential of entering the MVNO space. He has also worked as a Dale Carnegie Corporate Trainer in Egypt, having obtained his endorsement in 2014.

MAS holds a Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering from Cairo University and received his MBA from AUC in 1997. With his (in-depth/broad/comprehensive/considerable/vast/substantial) experience in the telecommunications and technology sectors, coupled with his background in consulting, mentoring, and training, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the executive education field.
