Bowles was set up in 1964 as an educational charity getting young people into the great outdoors. The Learning & Development department is a commercial subsidiary with all profit going straight back to the Trust.
Based just outside Tunbridge Wells (a short train journey from London) our 12-acre site includes our 135 million-year-old sandstone cliff, ropes courses, swimming pool, dry ski slopes and an array of team problem-solving challenges. The greatest impact comes from observing teams work together to achieve these challenges. We focus on individual strengths and authenticity, giving participants confidence to develop in line with who they are.

Bowles Outdoor Centre near Tunbridge Wells runs highly impactful outcome-driven people development programmes. Programmes are hands-on, fun and achieve measurable results. Two of our clients have been recipients of a prestigious Princess Royal Training Award, with the Bowles experiential element acknowledged as a contributing factor. As an educational charity, all our profits go straight to enabling more young carers or SEN groups to have a life-enhancing outdoor adventurous experience.
